You would think that some rum companies would stop spending their advertising money with this guy. Looks like he has been arrested a few times for cocaine possession as well. https://www2.miami-dadeclerk.com/cjis/mobile/CaseSearch.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 What a class act. ******* Capn's L...

Plantation, XM, Papas Pilar and many others use Foursquare rums in their blend. But you're right Jimbo, none openly market his name.

IMHO, Foursquare is really the only full-scale distillery in Barbados that has the credibility to claim no additives. Mount Gay and WIRD do not.

Though they're not Trinidad or Venezuela, I think "no sugar allowed" in Barbodos may be a stretch.

Denizen's new Merchants Reserve rum has a nice full body similar to Smith and Cross. Both have Hampden Estate rums in the blend. Love them both.

Pussers is made by WIRD now so sugar in the blend is almost 100% guaranteed.

The marque means nothing. They've completely discredited themselves with the rums that are included in their portfolio. Bunch of hooey.

If you are in London stop by Gerry's or Whisky Exchange for all the rum you could ever want. They will have plenty of bottles you can't find in America.

What's worse - bad writing or plagiarism?

Have not heard much about him here, but I occasionally read a website called Bahama Bob. He is part of the Rum XP circle jerk so I don't expect much. But I've begun to notice a theme on his website - plagiarism. He often cut and pastes work by others and passes it off as his own. Here is a sample fr...

Nice update. Since you mentioned brands being defensive about additives, didn't you find the Don Papa to be extremely sugared up? I like it just fine, but there's definitely some funny business going on with that one. I don't know the overall sugar content but did the old 1/4oz. rubbed between the p...

CarribeanJournal.com totally discredited

Ok I admit it, I have enjoyed reading the fluffy rum articles over at Caribbean Journal over the last few months. But they've just shown how little they know about quality spirits by naming Captain Morgan White Rum best in class. Pathetic! http://www.caribjournal.com/2014/09/22/rum-journal-this-migh...
