I remember the first time I tasted the Mount Gay Extra Old. It was a bottle from 2002 and it was flawless to the point of being boring. I'm surprised that you didn't drink White Oak, since it's the most popular rum on the island. VAT 19 is a great choice, I always drink either that or Royal Oak.
