Just an update - I finally got around to opening a bottle of Zaya I got last year while on vacation in Florida. This stuff has gone completely to shit. Might as well be drinking vanilla extract. The newest bottles have a metal screw cap and collar, but I have read that the ones with paper wrap aroun...

I am in Florida on vacation and took the opportunity to stock up on a shi- err, boat-load of Seale's stuff. I stopped at TW Sunday and grabbed bottles of Cockspur 12 yr and Doorly's 12 yr. Both are outstanding, and in a side-by-side the Doorly's held up well - enough so that I couldn't justify going...

I just scored a very nice price on a case of 375s of the reserve online - $7 a bottle with free shipping (750 is usually around $25 here in NC). I was concerned that it was mislabeled which often happens online, and was relieved when it got here and was in fact the reserve. Campari's website still s...

Unfortunately from what I have heard Teacher's seems to have undergone a formulation change within the last few years and is now a shadow of what it used to be. I have been nursing the last of a 1.75 ltr bottle that I am pretty sure is of the old formulation because it still has a lot of that lovely...

For the price, the Evan Williams BIB is hard to beat, I can get it on sale for $12 around here in NC. The more aged 1783 (10 yrs vs 4 for the BIB) is also very good for just a couple bucks more. I like to use the BIB as a mixer due to the higher proof and the 1783 for daily sipping, and the single b...

I tried this rum the other night - I like it a lot, especially at the price I paid. Hate the bottle though, or at least the cap - the cheap metal top didn't engage the threads at all and I had to cut along the perforations to get it off. I couldn't find a leftover cork to fit it tightly so had to bo...
