Well, not sure what your personal stash is like but I can tell you that some spectacular rums can be had for far less than you are looking to spend. Here is what I would do in your shoes. Gather up the basics of great rums...Barbancourt, Appleton XO, etc.. They should be widely available to you and ...

Thanks Cyril...those were the ones I was just looking at. The Whisky Exchange has both of those and I was thinking about biting the bullet and ordering them with my coaching check.

Received a bottle of this today and it is unlike anything I have ever tasted. Granted, I am inexperienced with this style of rum but this is *really* different than anything I have ever tried and I love it. It is pretty expensive at around $80 for the aged rum but *wow*, great stuff.

Score!!!

Got a nice little package in the mail today. :) The St George is really something special. Review to follow...but it's intensely grassy, complex and extremely smooth. It's unlike anything I have tasted. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v63/edgarallanpoe/image.jpg1_zpsetvdgdpe.jpg ******* http://rum...

Looking for Caroni rum

Hey guys...I am looking to get some Caroni rum but the bottles I have come across are either too expensive or have to be shipped from overseas. I have already purchased several bottles of The Scarlet Ibis rum but was wondering if anyone knew of other rums that contain Caroni rum that I might not kno...

Thats interesting. I've tried to order from outside the state and everyone I have tried has denied me. Looks like Astor will ship to me. Cool. Thanks for the heads up.

They have it at Astor wines and Spirits in NYC I believe they may also ship to your Local.
Unfortunately not. PA doesn't allow for outside shipping. Only State Store purchases. very frustrating sometimes

What exactly on The Whisky Exchange is so enticing? They have several bottles of rum from the old Caroni factory. My wife is from Trinidad and Tobago and getting some of that stuff would be very nice. So it is a little bit more than me just wanting something I can't get. It would also be doing some...

Anyone in the US ever ordered from The Whiskey Exchange?

Just wondering how everything went if you ordered from them. I was looking at their site and they have some stuff I can't get here in PA so I was thinking about biting the bullet and getting a couple of bottles. I know I'll be paying a premium but I can't get this stuff over here at all.

This is *the* rum for a Corn -n- Oil. Some people believe that any black rum will do...it won't. This has a really funky/earthy taste that goes well with the Falernum. Recipe is as follows... 2 oz. blackstrap rum (preferably Cruzan) 1/2 oz. John D. Taylor’s Velvet Falernum 1/3 oz. fresh lime juice 2...

Agreed...the difference between a spiced rum that is spiced with natural ingredients and a rum spiced with chemicals is night and day. I am fortunate to have a local distiller who makes a fantastic spiced rum and it is delicious. I placed a review of it in the spiced rum section.

Is St. Nicholas Rum Still made by Foursquare?

The thread by The Captain piqued my interest on this rum. I have it available to me here in Pa but it looks *expensive*. A couple of questions for you good folks... 1. I *think* I read somewhere that it is made by Foursquare. Is that accurate? 2. Is it a special rum or is it simply a $30-40 bottle o...
