Anyone tried Cockspur Five Star?

One of my favourite rum-shops has this rum on sale, and I was wondering if anyone of you guys have tried it or have an opinion about it? ******* Capn's Log : We've yet to find a Barbadian to really disappoint. The 12 was reviewed ( here ) and mentions the younger one as well (NAS), which BTI reviewe...

Why no response?

I was intrigued when I saw your post. I love coffee, and I love to mix it with alcohol, so naturally I anticipated some interesting new options for my cup of joe. No such luck it seems. In Denmark we have this very popular coffee drink called coffee punch, which is a mix of Rød Ålborg (schnapps) sug...

Out of the core range of 12yo, 15yo, 18yo and 21yo, my personal choice is always the 18yo. It is luxuriously rich, leathery, "old sherried style" whisky - not the easiest or most freshly sherried in the lot (15yo appeals to many, due to it's sweet, strawberried fresh sherry -character), b...

Eldorado 15

Nice review.
Sue Sea's idea of sipping this rum on the rocks works very well. I have been enjoying this over some time and the addition of a single icecube really balances things out: The oak seems to tone a bit down and the sweetness seems lighter and more pleasant. Excellent stuff this rum :D

Another opinion on Mathusalem 15

Once in a while I crave something different than the more challenging spicy rums that I usually prefer, and because of the huge amounth of positive reviews of this rum I decided to try it. It opens up rather pleasantly. nose: sweet and fruity followed by a slightly alcoholic note, but overall a rath...

Glendronach 21: Parliament

This is a review from the time where the only spirit I consumed was whisky. Glendronach is still one of my favourite distillers because of their lovely sherried whisky. The 21 year old was, and still is, my celebration whisky. Next time I open it will probably be after my final exam. The review: Nos...

Garrick, you are right that the bottle does not indicate that it is flavored; however my very best recollection - now hazy - is that I found their website which stated that spices are added. It is also possible the label has changed - my first bottle of Monk is long gone. Compare to the many "...

Hello everybody..

Hi.. My name is Bjørn, and I am almost a physical therapist. About 5 years ago I began my journey into the world of fine spirits. Initially I was mostly into whisky, mainly the peated and sherried kind, but after a small series of rum-reviews from my favourite whisky-reviewer Ralfy I decided to try...
