Cheapest price you still see Black Tot sitting on a shelf

Post by The Black Tot »

OK guys.

I'm going to do it. I have realized that this must happen.

I want your help to find the best pirce. Who is still seeing a bottle of The Black Tot in a store near them, and what is the best price for which you are seeing it?

I tried to avoid it. I tried ignoring it, tried insulting it, tried just about everything.

But I think this is my retirement bottle. I think I must try to have one.

K+L wines seems to have had a 750ml for $750. Haha, that's a dollar a ml. They're out of stock.

It's for 900 on DrinkupNY.

The UK stores seem to sell a 700ml for around the equivalent of 900.

What's the best price you can still see it for where you've been browsing?

Same.

At one time I suggested creating a buying group to share the cost and we didn't quite make it happen. The factors would seem to be: number in the group, and the ability to subdivide, bottle and ship to the individuals. One of the particular issues would be those of us who don't live in Paradise, ie South Florida and Keys, but are forced to live on the Continent, et al, lol.

Is a group possible?

If I could solve the logistics issues, how many of us would be in?

I'm a world traveler for my job. I can at least cover Canada, US, UK, and probably France.

We've all waited this long, we're probably not in a hurry, so I could certainly get them to our people given say a year max.

When you looked into it previously, what was the number they wanted?

K+L was selling them for 750, but doesn't have any more in stock.

As I understand it, they trickle these out, it wasn't a one time thing, they're making small batch releases. A UK site I was on said they were expecting more in March 2015.

If we could contact K+L, maybe they'd order us some and sell them to us for 750? How many would be in at that price?

For a bottle or a few oz? I'd be in for the latter. A friend of mine (not on the forum) would be, too.

I think we're starting with a bottle sale, rather than a taster size.

A small few oz bottle is already available from the Whiskey Exchange, at least, in the UK. I've seen it in person.

I'm into a divided single bottle, though you could always see if you could negotiate a multi-bottle sale, but I doubt we'd have anywhere near the response to a single divided bottle...

I'd certainly be interested in this as well, though my northern location might make my participation more trouble than it's worth. Possibly ways around it though...

Canada is not a problem. I'm there at least once a year.
