Should I or should I not? That is the question.

The Caraibes blend has added sugar but the older ones don't.

Some interesting bottlings if you can get them at a reasonable price. We've only had the Caraibes blend and the Guadaloupe are the only ones that have officially made UK shores. Neither have tickled my fancy.

I would go for the Foursquare cask strength 16 year old bottling if you can find it. Check out this raving review:

Seems like the 60% cask strength is only available in Denmark but they have a 45% available around some parts of Europe.

I can definitely get the foursquare 16 year Barbados 45% 70€. I'm not 100% sure if it's worth that much though.

There's a Caroni Trinidad 15 year 54% for 74€ next to it. Hmmm

The Velier 15 Year Old Caroni complete with retro labelling is still pretty easy to pick up......I'd choose that. The 12 is pretty good.

80 dollars seems a little high for a 16 year bottle but Its one of the oldest four square rums that I know of and even at 45% higher than everything they put out. St. Nicholas Abbey is a 15 year and costs more than twice as much. I would surely buy one if it was available state side. Caroni has many offerings in this price range and age.

There was a French website which reviewed many of the rums in the range and actually gave the 5 year Navy style Jamaican the highest mark.
