Zacapa "23" being dumped?
No kidding! I stopped in at Total Wine (who sets the market in rum crazy south Florida) and - what?! - Zacapa 23 Anos' new and regular price of $34! Keep in mind that the prices of most rums have been creeping up. And this was not - I repeat NOT a sale.
At this rate the Z-rum will soon be renamed Zacapa 23 Pesos. Like Tommy Bahama and Zaphra 21, Zacapa's prices are dropping albeit a bit slower. Now at first I attributed this to our faltering economy, but in the face of other price increases?
You decide...
