Rum Link: Ralf's World of Rum

Post by Capn Jimbo »

Aufvedersen!

As most of us are sadly aware, the world of rum lacks a real group of truly independent rum websites. Except for El Machete and Moi, the handful of other websites are dominated by the Shillery and the monkey wannabees. A precious few - like the Count, Scotte, the Dood - have split off but still retain commercial interest and bias to some degree.

There are a couple of exceptions (see the Reviewer's Reviews) well worth consideration. Here's another: Ralf's World of Rum (link).

I stumbled across this German site really quite by accident, and landed on his distillers and products page (linke above) - absolutely amazing. It's fair to say that the aforementioned commercial sites really give you little idea of what's really out there, and how little of the world's rums are actually available.

Ralf's list was breathtaking. By the way, I strongly suggest that you use Yahoo Babel to translate. Insert the link given - Babel then allows you to right click and open any of the translated links in another tab or window and it too will be translated (neat!).

A rare and valuable website. Highly recommended...
