The Barbadians are kings of the art of rum making and Doorly's XO is the crown jewel of their kingly empire. Refined, sweet and very flavorful; Doorly's XO has the added attraction of being moderately priced.

NAME: Doorly's XO

LOCATION: Barbados

PRICE: $19.99-$25.00

COLOR: Brown the color of Maple syrup or Bourbon.

NOSE:Citrus, oak, cold green apples, tangy apricots, currents, fragrant, penetrating, room filling, pleasant, clean

TASTE: Compelling, nosy and flavorful this rum could easily be confused with old Cognac. There is almost no alcohol burn on the palette. Flavors develop from the citrus and apple toward the light brown sugars ending with a very nice oak flavor the reminds one of old Scotch or Bourbon. The Sherry barrels make their presence known from the first smell all the way through the last taste.

AFTERTASTE: Medium; lasting, ending in about 45 seconds but with lingering traces for several minutes after that. Clean citrus flavors that end in demerara sugar

NOTES: Doorly's XO cannot be found in just every liquor store. In fact you will have to search for it but you will be rewarded for your effort. This drinks like a Rum twice or three times its price. It is so refined and complex that one might be excused for confusing this with expensive cognac. This is a masterpiece of the distillers art and not to be missed. Every person deserves a taste of Doorly's XO is for no other reason to see what can be done with care, excellent ingredients and artful aging of Rum
