Foursquare Redoubtable

Post by Nomad »

I'm an admitted Foursquare aficionado and more than that a fan of their fortified wine casks releases which have all been spectacular. To say I was looking forward to this one is an understatement.
Sweet cherries, oak, red wine, blackberries, plums(all the dark fruits!).
Smokey wood, lemon...WOW! Spectacular! At 61% you would think that it would be hot but is very drinkable.
I added water three times and it shrugged it off like a ducks back! Made for me.

Sounds terrific. Sadly, we are quarantined in a state that controls all liquor and Foursquare is not sold here. Question: the addition of water should of course take away a bit of the proof burn. But almost more importantly each addition should change the integration, balance and release or emphasize different flavors and impressions.

How a about a review, beginning with unwatered and then at each addition?

Thanks...
